Q - How do I begin?
A - Call our office at (207)283-1168 or stop by 413 Alfred Street in Biddeford, Maine We'll make an appointment for your initial exam.
Q - What if I made an appointment but am unable to keep it?
A - Simply call our office at (207)283-1168 within 24-hours of the appointment, and we'll reschedule for another time.
Q - What happens on the first visit?
A - Your initial visit is an opportunity for the doctor to begin to understand your health issues and determine if Chiropractic can help you. First, you'll fill out a "Personal Health History". After completing that, you will watch a short video and then have a consultation with our New Patient Coordinator. Then, the Doctor will review your case history with you and do her "hands on" exam (muscle tone, trigger point evaluation and soft tissue changes) to determine if you have a Chiropractic problem. If she thinks you would benefit from care, the New Patient Coordinator will do 2 simple nerve tests using the Insight Millenium diagnostic tool, postural evaluation and range of motion tests. X-rays may also be ordered. An appointment for x-rays will be scheduled at Southern Maine Medical Center. A second appointment, or Report
Visit, will be scheduled at which time Dr. Rolnick will explain her findings, including reviewing any x-rays and explaining your options for care. NOTE: To begin improving your life through Chiropractic, our Personal Health History is available to view and print as an Adobe .pdf file. Click here to Get Adobe Reader.
Q - When does care begin?
A - We do not start your care until the Doctor has made a complete evaluation of all her findings and she is certain that you understand the nature of the underlying problem and what is involved in correcting it. Usually this is at the time of the your second visit.
Q - What happens on the second visit?
A - At the Report Visit, you will watch a short video to help you understand subluxation and the different types of care that Chiropractic offers. Then, the Doctor will review all her findings with you, including showing you any x-rays that have been taken. She will explain options for care and based on your decision, care will begin on that visit.
Q - What is the Insight Millenium?
A - State-of-the-art technology which is used to objectively help Chiropractors detect areas of nerve disturbance, document and monitor results, and deliver the appropriate Chiropractic
Care. The purpose for administering these tests is to detect and pinpoint abnormal function in the nervous system.
The two standard test will measure: 1) SEMG - the amount of electrical current in the muscles, and 2) Thermography - skin temperature along the spine. With Insight Millenium, patients are able to actually see bodily changes, and it will be easier to understand the amount and type of care you are receiving. Because of this technology, we can provide a "tailor-made" program to meet each patient's specific health needs.
Q - What is a Subluxation?
A - Nerve interference created by physical, chemical and emotional stress which limits the body's ability to respond to further stress.
Q - Do you accept insurance?
A - We are participating providers in all Anthem products as well as Medicare. We are out of network providers for all other insurance plans. We have very affordable payment plans to assist with non-covered expenses.
Q - What if I don't have insurance?
A - We are mindful that not all individuals have health insurance and that health care costs can be overwhelming. To help with that, we have affordable payment plans to help our patients receive the care they choose.
Q - Do you have a family plan?
A - Yes. Many of our patients choose to bring their family in for Wellness Care. Because health insurance does not generally cover Wellness Care, we have designed an affordable Wellness Care program and Family Plan.
